The Church of Scotland has had a presence in the village since 1880
when, under the jurisdiction of nearby Logie Kirk,
it opened its doors firstly as a Mission Church then as a “Chapel of Ease”
with Rev James Couper appointed as minister.
In 1897, thanks to a generous bequest from
Miss Mary Anne Barbara Holbourne,
we were officially declared a Parish Church.
The following year the adjacent hall was built
and an extension to the front of the church to include the gallery
followed shortly after.
Since 1880 we have been served by nine ministers, two of whom,
Rev Dr John Boyd (1903 - 1940) and Rev George T Sherry (1977 - 2004), between them served the parish for over 60 years.
Our present minister, Rev Mairi F Lovett,
was ordained and inducted in September 2005.
In 1987 we extended our premises to connect the two buildings,
providing us with a suite of three rooms along with
modern kitchen and toilet facilities, and allowing easy
wheelchair access.
